Need to address something. What happened to the Plastic Citizen between October 2024 and NOW? Long story short, two major health issues.
In October of last year, I had a serious herniated disc in my lower spine. This was causing issues with walking, sitting, moving, etc… The amount of pain I was in kept me from doing nearly anything. I saw the doctors and we decided it was best to have nerve blocks done to help reduce the pain and shrink the herniated disc. At first, I was concerned with an increase in pain and I was pissed. But shortly thereafter, it started to subside and I was feeling much better. By the time I was feeling better in was early 2025 and I felt like I was playing catch-up. With life, with work, with personal projects, etc… However, as soon as I felt like I was back…
I ended up back in the hospital with issues related to diverticulitis. It is something I’ve been addressing for several years, but this time it felt different. I went to the hospital and stayed there for a little over a week. After I left, I was down about 15 lbs. and I had to address that first and foremost. That meant I wasn’t DJing, I wasn’t creating, I couldn’t do art shows, I wasn’t doing much other than caring for myself. And I had an appointment to talk with the surgeon to have a very necessary surgery. However…
The night before I was scheduled to meet with the surgeon, I started feeling growth in my intestines and as soon as I broke a fever, I immediately went back into the hospital. The surgeon came in and was like… surgery is on Thursday, we need to start bowel prep now. It was the longest couple of days before the surgery was to take place.
The surgery happened and they removed a hefty portion of my large intestine. I also had several fistulas connecting my small intestine to my large intestine that needed to be removed. And there were a few other minor complications they had to resolve. Luckily I didn’t have an ostomy bag as they were able to reconnect everything. There were 37 staples closing a ten inch incision. And it has taken a couple months since then to heal up.
Which brings me to now. I am healthy, I am happy, I am DJing again, I am performing, I am creating, I am living my life again. You don’t realize how much a condition is pushing you back until you have it fully taken care of. My health was terrible and my life was terrible because of it. Now, I am at a 180 degree turn. And I am now back to this website and several other projects…
Thank you for hanging out and sticking by me. This website WILL be updated more in the near future.
