Victorian Animals – Coming Soon

Over the past six months, I’ve been creating and selling Victorian animal shadowboxes at markets, craft fairs, and various art events. These pieces start with carefully selected animal photos, which are then reimagined in full Victorian fashion. Think dapper suits, proper dresses, and an unreasonable amount of dignity for creatures who, just hours earlier, were probably rolling in the dirt. And for whatever reason, people absolutely love them.
But the question I keep hearing, over and over again, is: “Can you do this with my pet?” And the answer is a very enthusiastic yes. Yes, I can.
So this summer, I’ll be launching a brand new website: VictorianAnimals.com
This will be a dedicated space where you can transform your pet into the refined individual they were always meant to be. Or at the very least, a version of them that looks like they own land and have strong opinions about tea.
Here’s how it will work:
  • You’ll upload a clear, forward-facing photo of your pet
  • You’ll choose from a growing collection of Victorian outfits
  • You can add accessories and small custom details
  • You’ll select a background for the scene
  • You’ll choose a wood stain for the final frame
From there, I’ll take your selections into Photoshop and build the final piece by hand, combining everything into a finished composition that feels cohesive and just the right amount of ridiculous.
I’m also considering adding a proofing stage, either online or through email, so you can review and approve your pet’s new identity before it goes to print.
Once finalized, each piece will be printed on canvas paper and set into a stained wooden frame. The end result is something you can hang on your wall, give as a gift, or use to quietly confuse guests who were not prepared to be judged by a Victorian lizard.
There are still a few details I’m working through, including pricing, turnaround time, and shipping. Over the next couple of months, I’ll be refining everything to make sure the final product is high quality, reasonably priced, and worth the wait.
Stay tuned. Your pet’s formal portrait era is approaching.
